The postcards depict Father Luis Bátiz Sainz (canonized 21 May 2000) and three lay Catholic activists from Zacatecas: Manuel Morales (canonized 21 May 2000), Salvador Lara Puente (canonized 21 May 2000), and David Roldán Lara (canonized 21 May 2000). All four men were imprisoned and subsequently executed under authority of Mexican president, Plutarco Elías Calles (15 August 1926). Note that the pencil annotation erroneously associates Lara Puente with León; he was active in Zacatecas.

A partly printed memorandum written and signed by Zebedee A. Macomber, a Bristol County justice of the peace, recording a bond of recognizance entered by Bradford Howland, of Dartmouth, in the amount of $60, with Jaber Barker and Pardon Davoll as sureties in the amount of $30 each, on condition that Howland appear before the Court of Common Pleas to answer an indictment for traveling on the Sabbath.
